Monet is a very attractive young stallion available to breeders for the first time commercially this year. With a strong, compact frame, Monet has a huge ring presence and is an eye-catching horse. He has a great walk with a strong over track, his trot is powerful and active, demonstrating a good hind leg with fantastic knee action.
His Canter really covers the ground and shows an uphill forwards movement along with balance and self-carriage that really shows his potential for his future dressage career.
Monet’s sire Ferdinand, who was famously bought by a Russian International Rider back in 2019, was in training for the Grand Prix in Germany before his sale. Having been purchased as a 3yo at the KPWN select sale for 160,000 euros, Ferdinand went on to finish 10th in the Pavo Cup Semi-Finals and competed on the KWPN stallion circuit in 2015 and 2016. He also contested the 2016 World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo. He went on to compete in national small tour level competitions

In 2019, Ferdinand moved to Diederik van Silfhout’s yard where he would be trained up to Grand Prix, and after 7 weeks he was sold to Russia.

Monet’s Damline incorporates the sought after and well renowned Weltmeyer. Verina his dam has produced graded KWPN stallions, and her progeny are currently competing at a small tour level. Monet’s damsire Welt Hit II was the reserve champion of the 1994 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing. He competed up to PSG and in 1997 and 1998 was proclaimed The Coming Stallion of the Zwolle International Stallion Show. In 2001 he won the bronze medal at small tour level at the Dutch Dressage Championships. He has produced more than 20 licensed sons and many Grand Prix horses such as Sagacious, Weltino and Weltissimo.

Monet is easy to handle on the ground, travels with other mares and stallions on the lorry, and has a willing and trainable nature. He is very brave, and has been successful at a handful of shows, with judges remarking on his excellent paces and huge potential. He demonstrates and active hind leg, finds flying changes as second nature and has started all his lateral work. A really exciting young stallion for the future.
